emailFederico has promised he will take more photos at the concerts, but he’s been quite a busy man, preparing the entire scope of the CaminoArtes program with the indispensable Carmen González Zapata at his side. For those of you lucky enough to walking the Camino this summer, here is the lovely moonrise, from the edge of the town. Sights like this become common in the beautiful stretch between Burgos and León, in the middle of which sits Carrión, home to the artists participating in the program.
Guitarist Elina Chekan
The first CaminoArtes concert took place Sunday night (June 3rd) to a very nearly full house in the beautiful Iglesia de Santa Maria. Guitarist Eleni Chekan started the summer’s series of music. Originally from Belarus, Eleni lives now in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, where she is a professor of guitar at the Peck School for the Arts at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
